Government has attracted support from the French government to invest in Agro processing and construction of a Mini and Mega hydro power station.

And Minister of Finance Felix Mutati says French support will also see the scaling-up of solar power to address the current power deficit.

Mr Mutati was speaking after meeting French Minister of Finance Michel Sarpin in Paris.

And Mr Sarpin said Zambia is on the right path in her economic recovery and stabilisation.

Mr. Sarpin has further pledged greater support of France to Zambia once all the processes leading up to a programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are exhausted.

The French Minister of Finance said this during a meeting with Mr. Mutati, in Paris, France.

Meanwhile Mr. Mutati has assured the French government that Zambia is implementing tough decisions in a bid to restore prudent economic management and strengthen transparency.

He said among the decisions will be establishment of a price band mechanism which is aimed at eliminating illegal concessions.

Mr. Mutati has further invited the French Business Community to invest in Zambia’s energy, infrastructure, transport and logistics sectors.

And the French Agro Group, Adepta, has said a delegation of investors will be visiting Zambia in April 2017 to explore the agriculture opportunities marketed by President EDGAR LUNGU during his visit to France in 2016. – (ZNBC)
